Addis Ababa: Africa’s coronavirus case count as at July 25 has surpassed 800,000, according to the Africa Centre for Disease Control.Deaths from the virus have also crossed the 17,000 mark but recoveries are getting closer to 500,000.The pandemic though appears to be gradually evolving and soaring on the continent of Africa.Southern Africa is the worst hit with South Africa the worst affected country on the continent and in the world.Central Africa is the least affected region in Africa with less than 50,000 infections.Health experts on the continent are now asking people to continue to observe all the Covid-19 protocols to keep the infections down.Wearing of facemasks, washing of hands with soap and under running water as well as observing social distancing.
