Pahalgam Terror Attack - All three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were killed in Operation Mahadev
Pahalgam Terror Attack: Home Minister Amit Shah gave detailed information in the Lok Sabha on the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir and Operation Mahadev conducted in response to it. He said that innocent civilians were brutally killed in Pahalgam, where terrorists killed people in front of their families after asking their religion. Shah strongly condemned the incident and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. He informed that the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police jointly took action in Operation Mahadev. In this operation, three terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack—Suleman alias Faizal, Afghan and Jibran—were killed. All three were A-category terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Shah said that these terrorists were identified from the people taken into custody and the recovered cartridges, which confirmed that these were the same terrorists who attacked in Pahalgam.Operation Sindoor: Precise attack on terrorist hideoutsAmit Shah also discussed Operation Sindoor in detail. He said that in the CCS (Cabinet Committee on Security) meeting on April 30, the security forces were given complete operational freedom. In this operation, which started on May 7, 9 terrorist bases of Pakistan were destroyed. Shah clarified that no Pakistani citizen was killed in this attack. After the operation, the Indian DGMO informed the Pakistani DGMO that India took this action under the right of self-defense.Shah said, "This is not like the Manmohan Singh government, where terrorists used to attack and we used to sit quietly and send dossiers. More than 100 terrorists were killed in Operation Sindoor. On May 9, 11 air bases of Pakistan were destroyed, in which the precision attack on 8 bases shook their air defense system."Targeting the opposition: Criticism of Chidambaram's statementThe Home Minister launched a scathing attack on the opposition, especially Congress leader P. Chidambaram's statement. He said that Chidambaram raised the question whether there is evidence that the terrorists of the Pahalgam attack came from Pakistan. Calling it shameful, Shah said, "We have proof that these three terrorists were Pakistanis. Even the chocolates recovered from them were made in Pakistan. Who does Chidambaram want to save? What will he gain by giving clean chit to Pakistan?"Taking a dig at the opposition, he said that he expected the opposition to be happy on the news of the killing of the culprits of the Pahalgam attack, but it seems that they are unhappy with it.Comment on PoK and historical mistakesShah said that the issue of PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) exists today only because of the mistakes of Jawaharlal Nehru. He criticized giving 80% of the water of the Indus river to Pakistan in 1960 and not demanding the return of PoK in the Shimla Agreement of 1971. He said, "If PoK had been taken at that time, we would not have to attack terrorist bases there today."Condolences to the affected familiesShah had met the affected families after the Pahalgam attack. Recalling a painful incident, he said, "I saw a woman who became a widow just six days after her marriage. I can never forget that scene." He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the security forces killed the terrorists who had killed innocent people.
