Jaipur | Chief Minister  Ashok Gehlot gave directions to use trustworthy test kits such as RT-PCR for testing corona infection instead of antigen based rapid test. He said that the State Government will not use cheap antigen test kits because experts have raised questions on the reliability of this kit and it is the matter of life and death of the people.

Gehlot while chairing the review meeting on the situation of corona infection in the State on Saturday directed that Plasma Therapy should be adopted on a big level in the treatment of corona in the State. He suggested that the patients who have recovered after the treatment should be inspired for plasma donation, for this an awareness campaign should be launched in a form of movement. He said that the State Government will have to Plasma Therapy a theme to achieve the target of saving people’s life from this pandemic. 

Lack of Seriousness Towards Corona Is Worrisome

The Chief Minister expressed concern about the perception among the general public that there has been some laxity in the fight against the corona infection. He directed the officers to be vigilant and strict to prevent the spread of corona infection. He said that before facing any serious situation in the coming days, people will have to be made aware about the preventive measures to avoid infection and will have to ensure availability of health facilities to every infected person.

Decline In Fatality Rate In The State Is A Big Achievement

The fatality rate due to corona in the State is 1.53%, which is very less compared to the national average of 2.1%.  Gehlot suggested working on the target to further reduce the fatality rate and said that if mortality rate remains controlled despite increase in the number of infected persons, then it would be a big achievement. He suggested a district wise audit of all the deaths taking place due to corona and to train doctors treating corona at various district hospitals and in small cities about the protocol suggested by the experts.

Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma, Chief Secretary  Rajeeva Swarup, Director General of Police (Crime)  ML Lathar, Additional Chief Secretary Public Works Department Smt Veenu Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Finance  Niranjan Arya, Additional Chief Secretary Mines  Subodh Agrawal, Principal Secretary Health  Akhil Arora, Secretary Medical Education  Vaibhav Galriya, Commissioner Information and Public Relations  Mahendra Soni and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
