IND vs ENG: While KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant scored brilliant centuries in the first Test match being played between India and England in Leeds, former England fast bowler Stuart Broad was very disappointed with an act of these two players. Rahul played a brilliant innings of 137 and Pant of 118 runs, but Broad says that both of them took more time than necessary after every ball, due to which the England bowlers had to face problems.

Stuart Broad said during commentary, "England bowlers must be very angry because the batsmen were taking a lot of time after every ball. When I am going on the bowling run-up, the batsman should be ready. The umpire should see that the batsmen are not deliberately slowing down the game." Mel Jones, who was commentating with him, also agreed and said that this is against the spirit of the game. “When the bowler is ready, the batsman should also be ready. It is wrong to stop the rhythm of the game and perhaps this strategy can be part of the Indian team,” he said.

Match situation

The Indian team scored 471 runs in the first innings, in response to which the England team was bowled out for 465 runs. In the second innings, India scored 364 runs, in which centuries by Rahul and Pant were important. Among other batsmen, Karun Nair scored 20, Sai Sudarshan scored 30 and Ravindra Jadeja scored 25 runs. Josh Tongue and Brydon Carse took three wickets each for England.

By the end of the fourth day's play, England have scored 21 runs without losing a wicket and they still need 350 runs. In such a situation, the fifth day can prove to be decisive for both the teams.
