Maharashtra News: A terrible landslide has occurred in Raigad district of Maharashtra. It is reported that a major landslide occurred in Irsalwadi village of Khalapur in Raigad district. Four NDRF teams are present at the spot and rescue operation is underway. According to preliminary information, more than 100 people are trapped under the debris of the landslide. About 70 to 75 houses are here and about 30 to 35 houses have been damaged in this landslide. So far 10 people have been saved in the rescue operation. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also reached the spot.

Difficult to reach JCB, CM orders rescue by helicopter

NDRF officials said that landslide has been reported in Irshalwadi of Khalapur in Raigad district. Some people are feared to be trapped. 2 teams of NDRF have reached the spot and have started search and rescue. 2 more teams have left from Mumbai to join the operation. Raigad police has set up a control room after the incident. It is being told that CM Shinde has given orders for rescue with the help of helicopter. The roads at the spot are very narrow and unpaved, so till now even JCB has not been able to reach.

5 dead bodies found so far, fire officer died in rescue operation

At the same time, 34 people trapped in the debris have been rescued. Apart from this, 5 dead bodies have also been taken out. It is being told that a part of Irsal Fort near Morbe Dam collapsed last night. Assistant Central Officer of Navi Mumbai Fire Service Shivram Dhumane died at this place while performing rescue operations at night.

Municipal Corporation came forward to help

The Raigad District Magistrate's Office said that 100 sanitation workers, 100 blankets, water bottles, torches and flood lamps have been sent by the Panvel Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, 1500 biscuit packs, 1800 water bottles, 50 blankets, 35 torches, 25 officers and staff, first-aid kits, gloves and bandages have been sent from Khopoli.
