In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he won from Hisar by defeating Dushyant Chautala and Bhavya Bishnoi. He is the great grandson of former bureaucrat and famous farmer leader Chhotu Ram. His father Birendra served as a Union minister and his mother Premlata Singh represented the Uchana assembly seat.

Brijendra Singh is also a member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Standing Committee on Defence. He is a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who took voluntary retirement after serving the country for 21 years. In 1998, he secured 9th rank in the Civil Services Examination. Brijendra Singh did MA in Modern History from JNU. He is a native of Jind, Haryana.

‘I am not the product of nepotism’

Brijendra Singh had entered politics in the last Lok Sabha elections 2019. During this time, during his election speech, he had claimed that he was not the product of nepotism. He is the great grandson of Haryana icon Chhotu Ram. Last year, Brijendra Singh had publicly supported the wrestlers protesting against BJP MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations. There was speculation that Brijendra Singh was considering joining the Aam Aadmi Party in 2022. However, he later rejected these reports and said that he had no plans to join AAP.
