Test experience: Akash Deep made his Test debut against England this year and impressed everyone with his bowling. This experience makes him ready to perform better under pressure.

Excellent record in first class: He has taken 128 wickets in 38 first class matches played so far. He has also shown consistency in seven Test matches.

Bowling specialty: His biggest strength is to make the ball skid quickly after landing on the pitch. Accurate bowling on the line of off stump and the ability of seam movement make him a challenge for any batting order.

Left vs right hand equation: While Arshdeep is a left-arm bowler and relies on seam movement, Akash Deep's speed and action can prove to be more effective in England conditions.

Expectations from Akash in the absence of Bumrah

For Team India, which is trailing 0-1 in the series, every match has now become decisive. In such a situation, any kind of experimental playing eleven can become a risk for the team. The absence of an experienced bowler like Jasprit Bumrah might upset the balance of the team, but if there is one bowler who can partially fill that void, it is Akash Deep.
