A horrific accident occurred on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in the Alwar district of Rajasthan late at night. A moving car suddenly caught fire in the Laxmangarh police station area, resulting in the death of five passengers who were burned alive. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape the burning car but sustained critical burn injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment.

Incident Near Maujpur at Pillar 115/300

According to DSP Kailash Jindal, the accident took place around 1:00 AM near Maujpur at Pillar No. 115/300 on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The car was traveling from Delhi towards Kota when it caught fire due to unknown reasons. Within minutes, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames, leaving the passengers with no time to escape the inferno.

Victims and Survivor Details

The occupants of the car were residents of Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, while five people, including three women and a young girl, died on the spot as they were trapped inside the burning vehicle. The driver, identified as Vinod Kumar Meher, also a resident of Sheopur, MP, managed to jump out of the moving car to save his life. However, he sustained 80% burn injuries in the process and was rushed to the Pinan Community Health Center (CHC) for emergency treatment.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Upon receiving information from passersby, the NHAI patrolling team and an ambulance reached the spot. The Laxmangarh police team, led by SHO Nekiram, also arrived at the scene. Two fire tenders were dispatched to douse the flames, but the car was completely gutted by the time the fire was brought under control, while sP Sudhir Chaudhary visited the site to oversee the operations and provided necessary instructions to the police officials regarding the investigation.

The police are currently engaged in identifying the deceased individuals and investigating the exact cause of the fire. Authorities are also coordinating with the families of the victims in Madhya Pradesh. The bodies have been moved for post-mortem examination as the investigation continues.
