Automobile Sector Shows Remarkable Growth
According to a recent report from a leading automobile industry body, total retail sales in the automobile sector witnessed a substantial 55% increase during the Navratri period. All vehicle categories saw impressive growth: two-wheelers by 52%, three-wheelers by 115%,. Commercial vehicles by 48%, private vehicles by 70%, and tractors by 58%. These figures strongly indicate the anticipated strong business during the Diwali celebrations, fostering a positive sentiment across the market.High Demand Across Key Sectors
It's estimated that approximately 5 crore gifts, ranging from small to large items, are exchanged during the Diwali festival period, Notably contributing to the overall sales. CTI (Chamber of Trade and Industry) conducted discussions with various associations, including hotels, banquets, restaurants, malls, cinemas, shopping centers, car dealers, makeup. & salons, tour & travel, market, and industry associations, concluding that the festive season could generate around ₹5 lakh crore in business nationwide. There will be particularly high demand for home décor items, traditional puja essentials like earthen lamps, deities, wall hangings, handicrafts, and auspicious symbols like Shub-Labh and Om, all crafted by local artisans.Emphasis on Indian-Made Products
A crucial aspect of this year's Diwali celebration is the strong emphasis on buying and selling Indian-made products, while the Indian government's GST reforms have played a significant role in promoting indigenous goods. CTI has actively appealed to traders and the general public in Delhi to support locally manufactured items, which directly benefits local artisans and crafts persons, thereby strengthening the national economy and fostering the "Vocal for Local" initiative.
