Glenn McGrath On David Warner: Australia's great fast bowler Glenn McGrath has recently given a big statement. He believes that opener David Warner should get a chance to captain the Australian team in the coming times. Warner was banned for life for captaincy in 2018 after the ball tampering case.

Australian cricketers the then captain Steve Smith, Warner and Cameron Bancroft were banned for their involvement in the scandal in the third test of the series against South Africa. All three players were banned for one year. At the same time, Cricket Australia had imposed a life ban on David Warner for captaincy.

Cricket Australia has recently amended its policy, clearing the way for David Warner to captain again. In such a situation, McGrath believes that Warner is a contender to get a chance to become the captain.

McGrath told Daily Mail Australia, 'I think the way Cricket Australia handled the situation has left the way open for Warner to become captain in any format. I think they (Warner, Smith and Bancroft) have paid the price for their mistake.

Glenn McGrath said, "He has paid more for ball-tampering than any other cricketer and if captaining Australia is something Warner wants to do, good luck to him." McGrath also said that this scandal will always have an impact on Australian cricket.

David Warner has captained the Australian team in a total of 12 matches so far. Out of this, he has managed to win 11 matches as captain, while he has faced defeat in only 1 match.
