A legal controversy has erupted following rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh's concert at the MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). According to police officials, the event organizers violated explicit warnings regarding aviation safety and crowd management protocols. An FIR has been registered against Indrajit Singh, a representative of 'Tamannaaz Worldwide', for non-compliance with safety guidelines during the 'My Story – India Chapter' tour event held on 28 March 2026.

Violation of Aviation Safety Protocols

According to the police report, the concert venue is situated in close proximity to the restricted airport zone of Mumbai. Prior to the event, authorities had issued clear instructions to the organizers prohibiting the use of high-intensity laser lights, while under aviation regulations, the use of lasers near airports is strictly restricted as they can distract or blind pilots during critical phases of flight, such as landing and take-off. Officials stated that despite these warnings, illegal laser lights were deployed during the performance, posing a potential risk to flight operations.

Crowd Management and Capacity Issues

The FIR filed by the police also highlights significant lapses in crowd control. The organizers had formally informed the police that approximately 12,000 attendees were expected at the venue. However, the actual turnout was estimated to be between 18,000 and 20,000 people. According to the authorities, the excessive crowd size created substantial challenges for security personnel on the ground. The police noted that the presence of nearly double the permitted number of people increased the risk of a stampede and compromised public safety standards.

Legal Action and FIR Details

The BKC police have initiated legal proceedings against the event representative, Indrajit Singh, for disregarding safety directives and endangering the airspace. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police officials emphasized that organizers of large-scale public events are legally bound to adhere to the limits and conditions set by local administration. Investigators are currently reviewing event documentation and CCTV footage to further assess the extent of the violations committed during the show.

Performance Details and Upcoming Tour Dates

Despite the legal developments, Yo Yo Honey Singh performed a series of his hit tracks, including 'Dope Shope', 'Blue Eyes', 'Brown Rang', 'Millionaire', 'Desi Kalakaar', and 'Lungi Dance'. The Mumbai show was a key stop in his 'My Story – India Chapter' national tour. According to the official schedule, the rapper is set to perform in Pune on 4 April, Kota on 11 April, Indore on 25 April, Lucknow on 2 May, and Kolkata on 9 May. The tour is scheduled to conclude with a final performance in Bengaluru on 16 May.
