A man, 25, and his parents were in remission for allegedly driving his partner, 18, to commit suicide within 9 months of their wedding in Pune. The man’s wife was found dead in their house on a weekday after that her mother, 45, lodged a complaint.
Per Ratnadeep Gaikwad, assistant police inspector (API), Hadapsar police station, the couple got married on November 27, 2020 however it's yet to be verified whether or not the woman turned 18 before or after the wedding.
API Gaikwad said, “We have asked for the deceased’s certificate and other documents for verification. Her parents aforementioned they're going to bring them once her funeral. Her husband and in-laws are in remission and brought to Yerawada as I was on leave until Monday. I will now be able to take them in custody for any investigation.”
A case beneath sections 498(a), 306 (abetment to suicide) and thirty-four (common intention) of the Indian legal code have been registered at the Hadapsar police station.
