According to information, an unknown person called up Pawar's house at Silver Oak and threatened to kill Pawar and said that he would kill him with a Mumbai-sized desi katta. Sources told that the caller threatened in Hindi. On the complaint of the police operator posted at Sharad Pawar's bungalow, the Gamdevi police have registered a case against an unknown person.
Yesterday was NCP chief Pawar's birthday and today there has been panic after receiving death threats. The police has taken the matter very seriously. The person who made the threatening call has also been identified. The person threatening is a resident of Bihar.

By tracing the location from the phone number, the police has gone out to arrest the accused. On the other hand, according to information received from Sharad Pawar's office, the caller is mentally ill. It has given such threats once before as well. The police then also took him into custody.
