Arunachal Pradesh | A few days ago, his father has made shocking revelations about a teenager from Arunachal Pradesh who was kidnapped by the Chinese army. He said that the Chinese army had given his son electric shocks. The Indian teenager, who was allegedly abducted by the Chinese Army from Arunachal Pradesh, has been reunited with his family, an official said on Tuesday. District Deputy Commissioner Shashwat Saurabh said that the Indian Army reunited Miram Toran with his parents in a ceremony held at Tuting in Upper Siang district on Monday evening. On his return home, he was warmly welcomed by the local administration and panchayat leaders.

Chinese army handed back Indian citizens on January 27

17-year-old Miram was allegedly kidnapped by the Chinese army from Lungta Jor area near the Line of Actual Control on January 18. He went hunting with his friend Johnny Young. Johnny Yeung managed to escape from the spot and reported the matter to the authorities. The Chinese army handed over Miram to the Indian Army on January 27 at the Wacha-Damai contact point in Kibithu in Anjaw district, where he was quarantined and completed legal formalities.

China blindfolded

As reported by India Today, Miram's father Opang Toran said that his son was mentally exhausted as the whole incident scared him. The father alleged that he was tied up and blindfolded while in the custody of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China for more than a week. "He is still in shock. He was kicked in the back and initially given a mild electric shock. He was blindfolded most of the time and his hands were tied during the imprisonment," he said. They opened it only when it was time to eat. But, they provided him enough food."

China has already kidnapped Indian citizens

BJP MP from Arunachal East constituency, Tapir Gao, who shared details of the kidnapping of the teenager on Twitter on January 19, said, "Meeram was warmly received by the villagers, officials and panchayat leaders of Jido." In September 2020, the PLA reportedly captured five boys from Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Subansiri district, before releasing them nearly a week later, also at a border point in Anjou district. Arunachal Pradesh shares a border of 1,080 km with China.
