Israel-Iran War: The growing tension between Israel and Iran is no longer limited to the military front, but it has also turned into a digital war. Recently, hackers associated with Israel have given such a cyber blow to Iran, which has not only raised questions on the digital security of the country, but has also caused economic damage worth crores.

Cyber attack on Nobitex: Big loss of 781 crores

Iran's largest cryptocurrency exchange Nobitex was hacked and about 90 million dollars (about Rs 781 crore) disappeared. Blockchain analyst companies say that the hacker group associated with Israel is probably behind this attack.

On Thursday, the hacker group Gonjeshke Darande, who took responsibility for this cyber attack, made the entire source code of Nobitex public. He claimed that the assets present in the exchange have now been made public. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and other digital currencies were stolen during this attack.

Attack carried out with political motives

According to blockchain firms Elliptic and Chainalysis, the attack was carried out to send a political message rather than for any personal financial gain. The digital wallets to which these cryptocurrencies were sent were broadcasting messages related to criticism of Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

The hackers have made serious allegations against Nobitex, including—assisting the Iranian government in evading Western sanctions, and providing financial assistance to terrorist organizations. This has raised a big question mark on the credibility of Nobitex.

Nobitex's confirmation and response

Nobitex also confirmed the attack, saying that it has seen "unauthorized access" to its systems, and that is why its website and app are not working at the moment. This statement was released on social media. This incident has created panic in the entire crypto market of Iran.

Are relatives of Ayatollah Khamenei also involved?

Elliptic has also said in its claim that the accounts linked to Nobitex also included relatives of Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and people from the Revolutionary Guards. The firm has also shared digital transaction data and wallet connection details to support this claim.
