SCO Summit: In the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting held in Tianjin, China, India's Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar gave a strong message to Pakistan and China on the issue of terrorism. He said in clear words that India will not tolerate terrorism at any cost and will continue to take strict action against terrorists. Jaishankar also warned China in his own style for helping Pakistan, after which Pakistan's tone seemed to soften.

Pakistan's tone changed after Jaishankar's rebuke

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar's tone softened in front of Jaishankar's tough stand. Dar said that Pakistan wants a peaceful and stable relationship with India. Jaishankar, in his address, referred to the Pahalgam terrorist attack and said that this attack was part of a conspiracy to weaken the tourism economy of Jammu and Kashmir and create religious division. He completely justified Operation Sindoor carried out by India in response to this attack.

Operation Sindoor justified

Jaishankar said that India will remain firm in its response against terrorism. Recalling the founding objectives of the SCO, he said that the organization should adopt a 'no compromise' approach to deal with terrorism, separatism and extremism. Jaishankar's statement made both Pakistan and China uncomfortable.

Criticism of China's BRI

Jaishankar, in the context of growing global criticism of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), said that SCO cooperation should be based on mutual respect, sovereign equality and territorial integrity of member countries. This comment was an indirect warning to China, as India has been opposing BRI from the beginning.

Jinping also stunned

Jaishankar's aggressive stance also stunned Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Foreign Minister criticized China's policy of supporting Pakistan and obstructing India's efforts to ban terrorists in the United Nations Security Council. He called on the SCO to adopt a solidarity and tough stand in dealing with terrorism.

India's strong message: Will do such operation again

Jaishankar condemned the Pahalgam attack and said that the United Nations Security Council has also condemned it in the strongest terms. He stressed that India took action like Operation Sindoor to hold the culprits, financiers and sponsors of this attack accountable and will do the same in future. He said, "SCO was established to deal with terrorism, separatism and extremism. We have to fight against these evils without any compromise."
