ICC Rankings: The ICC has released the updated Test rankings till 23 July 2025. Former England captain Joe Root remains the number one batsman with a rating of 904. New Zealand's Kane Williamson is in second place with a rating of 867. England's Harry Brook is third with a rating of 834 and Australia's Steve Smith is fourth with a rating of 816.

Rishabh Pant gains one place

South Africa's Temba Bavuma has gained one place without playing any match and has reached the fifth position with a rating of 790. Sri Lanka's Kamendu Mendis has also moved up one place to number six with a rating of 781. India's Rishabh Pant has jumped one place and has reached the seventh position with a rating of 776.

Yashasvi Jaiswal loses three places

India's young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has suffered a major loss in the latest rankings. He has slipped three places to number eight with a rating of 769. Indian captain Shubman Gill remains at the ninth position with a rating of 754. England's Ben Duckett jumped five places on the basis of his brilliant performance in the fourth Test and has joined the top 10 with a rating of 743.

Abhishek Sharma created history, became the number one batsman of T20

India's explosive batsman Abhishek Sharma has created history by securing the number one position in the ICC T20 rankings. With a rating of 829, he overtook Australia's Travis Head, who has now slipped to second place with a rating of 814. Abhishek has reached this position without playing any recent match. He is the fourth Indian batsman to become number one in the T20 rankings, among whom Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav have achieved this feat earlier.

India's Tilak Verma remains at third place with a rating of 804. England's Phil Salt is fourth with a rating of 791 and Jos Buttler is fifth with a rating of 772.
