INDI Alliance Protest: More than 300 MPs from 25 opposition parties on Monday marched from Parliament to the Election Commission headquarters. The INDIA Alliance leaders have made serious allegations of vote theft in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Also, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list in Bihar is also being opposed.Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi detainedCongress MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were taken into custody by Delhi Police. Heavy barricading was done to stop the protest march of opposition leaders outside Parliament. The police did not allow the march to go to the Election Commission office.Akhilesh Yadav jumps over barricadingSamajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav jumped over the police barricading when Delhi Police stopped the leaders from marching. Akhilesh then sat on a dharna and said, "The police are stopping us. If we are allowed to go, we are ready to go to the Election Commission." TMC MPs Sagarika Ghose and Mahua Moitra also climbed the barricades.Opposition's stance: "All will go or none"The Election Commission had called a 30-member opposition delegation for a meeting at 12 noon. Citing space constraints, the commission said that a maximum of 30 people could attend. On this, the opposition clearly said, "Either all of us will go, or none of us will go." Opposition leaders said that they had asked for time to submit a memorandum, not just for a delegation.Controversy over voter listPolitical turmoil continues over alleged irregularities in the voter list. Rahul Gandhi has directly accused the Election Commission of vote theft. He started a campaign against this and also launched a website, in which people have been appealed to join this campaign.
