Nasal Vaccine For Covid: The Union Health Ministry said today that mock drills will be conducted in hospitals across the country from Tuesday. The ministry is preparing a new guideline regarding Christmas and New Year. The health ministry said, "The pandemic is not over yet. During the festive season, it is imperative to create awareness to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour." Along with this, the government has also approved two-drop nasal vaccine for Covid. Official sources said that those who have taken Covishield and Covaxin can take it as a heterologous booster. It has been included in the vaccination drive from today and will appear on the Cowin application. For the time being, these will be available in private hospitals.

According to sources, we need to be aware and not create panic. In the last 8 months, there has been a steady decline in cases in India. The positivity was only 0.14%. There are no active cases in 4 Union Territories and States. The mask will remain as an advisory for the time being and random sampling will start at all airports from Saturday. No fee will be charged from the passenger for random sampling and the cost will be borne by the Ministry of Health. According to sources, the airline will randomly identify 2% of the passengers.

The ministry said today, "There has been a trend - COVID starts spreading from China, Korea, Brazil and then comes to South Asia. It has reached India in 20-35 days. We have to be vigilant."

Citing researchers, the health ministry said weak vaccines, under-vaccination, lack of natural immunity and the sudden lifting of restrictions contributed to the outbreak. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a meeting with Health Ministers of States and Union Territories regarding rising Kovid cases in some parts of the world. The meeting will be held today at 3 pm through video conferencing.
