The Union Ministry of Labour and Employment has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two prominent private sector firms, Porter and Gigin Technologies, to enhance the reach and efficiency of the National Career Service (NCS) portal. This strategic move is designed to strengthen the government's one-stop digital platform that connects job seekers with potential employers. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, marking a significant step toward digital employment transformation.

Porter to Generate 30 Lakh Logistics Opportunities

According to the official statement from the Ministry, the partnership with SmartShift Logistics Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (Porter) is expected to create massive opportunities in the logistics and driving sectors, while porter, a technology-based goods transport agency, specializes in easy urban logistics services. The agreement sets an ambitious target of creating more than 30 lakh opportunities by the year 2030. This initiative aims to formalize and expand the logistics workforce by leveraging the digital infrastructure of the NCS portal.

AI-Driven Verified Jobs via Gigin Technologies

The collaboration with Gigin Technologies focuses on providing verified employment opportunities through a multi-sided technology ecosystem. Gigin utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and verification intelligence to ensure dignified and authentic job placements. This partnership is projected to generate 2-3 lakh verified job opportunities annually. 5 lakh employers onto the NCS platform, Importantly diversifying the range of industries available to registered job seekers.

Current Scale and Vacancies on NCS Portal

Minister Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted that the NCS platform has emerged as a highly effective solution for youth seeking employment aligned with their skill sets. Currently, the portal hosts over 7 lakh active vacancies across various sectors. The scale of the platform is further evidenced by the registration of approximately 59 lakh institutions. The Minister noted that these partnerships would be mutually beneficial for all stakeholders, providing a strong pipeline of talent for industries while offering diverse choices to candidates.

Integration with e-Migrate and My Bharat Platforms

To maximize the impact of the NCS portal, the government is focusing on its integration with other major digital initiatives. The Minister emphasized the ongoing integration of NCS with platforms such as e-Migrate, SIDH, and the My Bharat portal. Also, the system is being linked with various state-level employment portals. This cross-platform integration is intended to create a truly national and transformative ecosystem, ensuring that employment services are accessible to citizens regardless of their geographical location.

Addressing the Skill Gap through Specialized Training

A key focus of the new partnerships is bridging the existing skill gap in the labor market. Minister Mandaviya urged both Gigin and Porter to collaborate with NCS in developing mechanisms for 'soft skills' training for registered job seekers. He suggested the implementation of short-term training modules designed specifically to meet industry requirements. By aligning candidate skills with market demands, the ministry aims to enhance the employability of the Indian youth and ensure they're prepared for the evolving needs of the modern economy.
