New Delhi : Wrestler Divya Kakran, who won a bronze medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, has raised the issue of non-receipt of any reward or help from the Delhi government in response to the congratulations given by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Indian young wrestler Divya Kakran won a bronze medal in the 68 kg weight category of the women's wrestling event at the Commonwealth Games. For this, Arvind Kejriwal congratulated him by tweeting.

Divya Kakran tweeted one after the other on Sunday and said, "Thank you wholeheartedly to the Honorable Chief Minister of Delhi for congratulating me on the medal, I have a request to you that I have been living in Delhi for the last 20 years and here I am practicing my sport wrestling, but till now I have not been given any reward or any help from the state government. I request you so much that the way you honor other players who play from any other state through Delhi, I should be honored in the same way.

Along with this, Divya has shared a video of the year 2018 saying that it seems that time has repeated itself. Everything is same as before, nothing was done for me yesterday nor now.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday congratulated the players who won medals in the Commonwealth Games. He tweeted and said, "Well done wrestlers. Our wrestlers have made a splash in the Commonwealth Games. In wrestling, India got a total of 6 medals in a single day, out of which 3 are gold. Many congratulations to Sakshi Malik and Deepak Poonia for their gold and Divya Kakran and Mohit Grewal for their bronze medal.

Let us tell you that Divya Kakran, who comes from a poor family, won the bronze medal in the women's 68kg category by defeating Tiger Lily of Tonga in just 26 seconds in the bronze medal playoff match. Divya Kakran, however, lost to Nigeria's Blessing Oboruddu by technical superiority (0-11) in the freestyle 68kg quarterfinals to enter repechage.

Despite financial constraints, Divya did not give up and made India proud by winning medals in many international competitions of the country and the world. Divya currently wrestles in the 68 kg weight category.
