Bihar Assembly Elections: The Bihar government has taken two big and historic steps towards the empowerment of women and youth before the assembly elections. In the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, 35% reservation in government jobs for women native to Bihar and the formation of Bihar Youth Commission for the youth has been approved. These decisions will prove to be important in strengthening the socio-economic condition of the state and increasing employment opportunities.

35% Reservation for women

The Bihar government has made a provision of 35% reservation in government jobs to empower women. This benefit will be available only to women native to Bihar, who will be certified residents of the state. Under this decision, women candidates of Bihar will be given priority in all government services, whether it is direct appointment of any level or department.

This decision is a response to the long-standing demand, in which it was being said that women candidates from other states should not get the benefit of reserved quota in Bihar jobs. The government believes that this step will not only provide more employment opportunities to the women of Bihar, but will also bring positive changes in the socio-economic condition of the state.

Formation of Bihar Youth Commission

Along with women, the Nitish government has also taken important steps for the youth. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that it has been decided to form the Bihar Youth Commission to provide more employment opportunities, better training and empowerment to the youth of Bihar. The cabinet has approved the formation of this commission.

This commission will advise the government on matters related to education, employment and social upliftment of the youth. Also, it will coordinate with various government departments and ensure better opportunities for the youth. The Chief Minister said, "We are proud that through this commission we will work towards making the youth of Bihar capable and self-reliant."

Expectation of socio-economic change

Both these decisions are expected to open the door to new opportunities for women and youth in Bihar. While women will get more representation in government jobs, the formation of the Youth Commission will provide better guidance and opportunities to the youth in the field of education and employment.
