Dhaka: Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said that all those who entered Bangladesh illegally in the past weeks will be investigated. Momen said that if those people were found to be non-Bangladeshi, they would be sent back to India. They are ready to take back the Bangladeshis living illegally in India after due investigation. India has been informed about this. 

Infiltrators rise in Bangladesh after NRC issue arose

Bangladesh Border Police said last month that more than 300 people have been caught infiltrating the border since the talk of bringing NRC to India began. All these people are calling themselves Bangladeshi nationals during interrogation. However, he has no documents to prove his citizenship. Locals say that more people have infiltrated into Bangladesh than those arrested by the border police so far. 

NRC India's internal issue: Momen

Momen had said last week that his government would allow Bangladeshis living illegally in India to return. There is a lot of sweetness in relations between India and Bangladesh and there will be no impact on the National Register of Citizenship (NRC). According to Momen, India has already reported the NRC as an internal issue. In such a situation, Bangladesh will not have any effect on it. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also raised this issue in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi in New York. 

Bangladesh revokes visa of minister threatening Shah

Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind president and library minister in West Bengal, Siddikullah Chaudhary has claimed that Bangladesh Deputy High Commission has canceled his visa to visit his neighboring country . According to Chaudhary, he was to travel to Bangladesh from December 26 to 31 for an event and some personal functions. For this, he applied only on 12 December. But neither the visa application was approved by the High Commission nor was it officially canceled. He has permission from the state and central government to visit Bangladesh. However, they have to cancel the ticket in case the visa is not approved.

Chaudhary had recently threatened Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue of Citizenship Law (CAA). He had said that if the central government does not withdraw the CAA, we will not let Shah get out of Kolkata Airport. Whenever they come here, we will gather one lakh people outside the airport to stop them. Chaudhary said that CAA is against the citizens of the country with humanity, who have been living here for years.
