Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif targeted PM Modi, saying that he was playing politics through cricket. Asif wrote in his post, "By destroying the culture and spirit of cricket, Modi is destroying the possibility of peace and resolution of problems in the subcontinent to save his own politics. Peace and respect cannot be restored this way."Asia Cup 2025 Surrounded by ControversyThe Asia Cup 2025 was mired in controversy from the very beginning. India was awarded the hosting rights, but Pakistan refused to play in India. As a result, the tournament had to be held in the United Arab Emirates.
