Just nine days ago, Pakistan had become the number-1 team in ODI but within a few days it was removed from this number. However, Pakistan still has a chance to regain its lost crown in ODI. Pakistan has to play a match in the Asia Cup on 10 September. If Pakistan team defeats India in this match, then it can again come at number one in the ODI rankings.

Marnus Labuschagne did wonders

Australia won this match with great difficulty. He lost his seven wickets for just 113 runs, but after Cameron Green got injured in the sixth over, he came as a concussion substitute and played a brilliant inning of 80 runs, leading the team to victory. Green was hit by Kagiso Rabada's ball due to which he went out. Labuschagne, along with Ashton Agar, handled the Australian innings in difficult times. Both of them made a partnership of 112 runs for the eighth wicket and led the team to victory. Agar remained unbeaten after scoring 48 runs. Labuschagne faced 93 balls in his innings and hit eight fours. Whereas Agar faced 69 balls and hit three fours and one six.

Temba Bavuma's century

Before this, the batting of the South African team was also not special. If captain Bavuma's bat had not worked, the team would hardly have been able to reach even the score of 222. Opener Bavuma set foot on the wicket from the very beginning and scored a brilliant century while holding one end. Facing 142 balls, he hit 14 fours and one six. After him, the team's highest scorer was Marco Jansson who scored 32 runs on 40 balls. Only five batsmen from South Africa could reach double figures.
