Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a major election rally in Barpeta, Assam, launching a scathing attack on the Congress party. He stated that the Congress lacks a long-term vision for the country, which is why the party is facing consecutive electoral defeats. ' He noted that the people of Assam have decided on two major outcomes: a hat-trick for the BJP-NDA in the state and setting a record for the defeat of the Congress 'royal family' based in Delhi. He emphasized that the enthusiasm of the public reflects a clear mandate for development.

BJP Ideology and Commitment to Nation First

On the occasion of the BJP's Foundation Day, the Prime Minister extended his greetings to every worker and individual associated with the party. ' Their core resolution is to build a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat). Contrasting the BJP's governance with that of the Congress, PM Modi stated that the Congress never approaches the public with a report card of its performance. In contrast, the BJP government, with clear intentions, informs the public about the services rendered and the progress made during its tenure.

Vision for a Developed and Global Assam

The Prime Minister told the people of Assam that their vote this time would strengthen the foundation for a 'Viksit Assam' (Developed Assam). He criticized the Congress for focusing on short-term gains to facilitate corruption rather than long-term planning. According to the Prime Minister, the last decade was dedicated to pulling Assam out of fear and instability while preserving its identity. He outlined that the next decade would focus on making Assam self-reliant and elevating its identity to a global stage. He reiterated that the BJP is taking Assam to the heights that its citizens truly deserve.

Comparative Data on Farmer Welfare and MSP

Focusing on agricultural issues, PM Modi provided a comparative analysis of the support provided to farmers. He stated that in the 10 years prior to 2014 under the Congress regime, paddy farmers received only ₹4 lakh crore as Minimum Support Price (MSP). However, in the last 10 years under the BJP government, paddy farmers have been provided with ₹16 lakh crore. He highlighted that in 2013, the MSP for paddy was only ₹1,300 per quintal, which has now increased to approximately ₹2,370 per quintal. He also mentioned that the BJP government in Assam provides additional increments on top of the central MSP to further benefit local farmers.

Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam and Special Session

Emphasizing the role of women in building a developed India, the Prime Minister spoke about the importance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. He noted that the act ensures 33% reservation for women in state assemblies and Parliament. Acknowledging that the women of the country waited 40 years for this right, he stated that it's essential for women to receive this benefit starting from the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. To facilitate the necessary legal amendments, the government has called a special session of Parliament starting April 16. He mentioned that discussions have been held with all political parties to move forward with this initiative through consensus.
