Today is the 125th birth anniversary of the respected freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose, popularly known as Netaji. The central government has decided to start the Republic Day celebrations from January 23 to include Bose's birth anniversary, which will be celebrated as Parakram Divas (Day of Valor) starting this year. On Bose's birth anniversary, floral tributes will be paid to him in the Central Hall of the Parliament House. This wreath-laying ceremony will be held on January 23 at 10.30 am in the Central Hall of Parliament House.

Announcing on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a grand statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be installed at India Gate in Delhi. He said that till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is ready, his hologram statue will be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on Netaji's birth anniversary on 23rd January.

The statue of Subhas Chandra Bose will be installed in the chhatri where the statue of George V was earlier. The statue of George V was removed in 1968, since then this umbrella has been lying vacant. Holographic is a type of digital technology. The name of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who promised to give freedom in exchange for blood, is written in golden letters in the history of Indian freedom struggle. Born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa, in an affluent Bengali family, Subhash wanted freedom for his country at any cost. He dedicated his whole life to the name of the country and till his last breath kept fighting for the independence of the country. Netaji was considered to be the face of the radical minded youth of the country, eager to free Mother Bharati from the shackles of freedom at all costs. He was also the President of Congress.
