Rape: Punjab Ludhiana Gurudwara priest arrested raping differently abled girl

A priest of a Gurudwara in Ludhiana, Punjab has been arrested for raping a differently-abled girl. A 65-year-old priest of a gurudwara in Nurpur village of Machhiwara is accused of raping a mentally challenged 15-year-old girl. According to the police, the accused had been raping the girl for the last three months and used to give her contraceptives to avoid pregnancy. The accused priest's name is Sohan Singh alias Sohni, who is the neighbor of the victim.

The matter came to light on March 26, when the victim's aunt saw the girl taking pills. When they inquired, the girl told that Sohan Singh alias Sohni has given her these pills to improve her health. The girl also revealed that Sohan Singh had bought a mobile phone for her.

'The accused used to eat bullets before the rape'

The girl further said that the accused used to consume some pills before raping her. Machiwada police station in-charge Inspector Prakash Masih said that the police registered an FIR soon after receiving the complaint and arrested the accused. The accused is being questioned in this case.
