Rajnath Singh: After the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian government and the army took quick and decisive steps and started 'Operation Sindoor'. Under this military action, the Indian Army carried out deadly strikes targeting a total of 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and Pakistan. According to sources, about 100 terrorists have been killed in this operation. Bahawalpur, the stronghold of Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Muridke, the base of Lashkar-e-Taiba, were also among these targets.

The operation is still going on

Information about this operation was shared in an all-party meeting called by the central government on Thursday. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh gave a briefing to the leaders of all major parties and clarified that 'Operation Sindoor' is not completely over yet. He said that the situation on the border is constantly changing and hence the complete information related to the operation cannot be made public at the moment.

Active participation of the opposition

All opposition leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were present in the meeting. Kharge raised the issue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's absence in this important meeting, while the Congress also demanded a special session of Parliament. Despite this, most opposition parties showed unity on the issue of national security by supporting the government's action.

Who all attended the meeting

This high-level meeting was chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and BJP President J.P. Nadda were also present with him. Leaders of Congress, Trinamool Congress, DMK, Shiv Sena (UBT), Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, NCP (SP), CPM, JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas) and AIMIM were present from the opposition side.

Rijiju gave detailed information

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government's objective is to give transparent information about Operation Sindoor to all parties. He said the operation reflects India's accountability and determination towards the 26 innocent civilians killed in the Pahalgam attack.
