The Samajwadi Party has fully geared up for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. Akhilesh Yadav is continuously claiming the return of the SP government in UP. Meanwhile, the party has released the list of candidates. From this list, Akhilesh has been confirmed to contest from Karhal seat.Apart from this, former minister and senior SP leader Azam Khan has been given ticket from Rampur. Tickets have been given to Satyabhan Shakya from Amapur, Shailendra Gangwar from Pilibhit and RS Kushwaha from Nighasan seat of Lakhimpur Kheri. Vinay Tiwari has got ticket from Gola Gokarnath, while Utkarsh Verma from Lakhimpur Kheri and Anil Verma from Hardoi. Manoj Pandey has been given ticket from Unchahar seat, Suman Maurya from Farrukhabad, Amitabh Bajpayee from Aryanagar seat of Kanpur, Dadgu Prasad from Naraini seat of Bundelkhand.BJP's ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) has declared Haider Ali Khan as the party's candidate from Swar Vidhan Sabha seat of Rampur. In the year 2017, Abdullah Azam Khan had won the assembly elections from Swar assembly constituency on a SP ticket.
