Let us tell you that amid the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka, Acting President and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Wednesday asked Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abhayawardene to nominate a Prime Minister who is acceptable to both the government and the opposition. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Wickremesinghe held a meeting with cabinet members in his office. It said that all the ministers involved in the meeting were of the opinion that as soon as there is an agreement to form an all-party government, they will hand over the responsibility to the new government.

Rajapaksa may go to Singapore

Wickremesinghe is under pressure to step down ahead of the possible resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. It is being said that Rajapaksa is going to Singapore from Maldives. The protesters who entered Wickremesinghe's office were trying to enter the Parliament House complex till these lines were written. Police said the police fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesters near the official residence of the Speaker of Parliament.

Protesters stormed PM's office

A young man had died due to difficulty in breathing. He was among the group that stormed the Prime Minister's Office in the morning. 35 others were injured in this incident. The Prime Minister's media department said that the ruling party and the opposition together should form an all-party government.
