Amidst the loudspeaker controversy in Maharashtra, a big decision has been taken by the Home Department. Now the use of loudspeakers will be allowed at religious places only after the permission of the police in the state.

Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil is also going to hold a meeting with the DGP and Police Commissioners in this regard today. It is believed that he will issue guidelines in this regard. Apart from this, he will also hold a meeting with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on the law and order situation of the state.

Thackeray gave ultimatum

In fact, the loudspeaker controversy in Maharashtra is overshadowed these days. MNS is continuously protesting to remove loudspeakers from mosques. Recently, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, while addressing a rally in Shivaji Park, demanded removal of loudspeakers from mosques. He had warned that if the state government did not take action on the issue by May 3, then we would put our loudspeakers outside the mosques and play Hanuman Chalisa in full voice. Since then, the fear of communal tension in the state has been deepening.

PFI had performed

After Raj Thackeray's statement, PFI also demonstrated. During this, PFI Mumbra President Abdul Matin Shekhani gave a provocative speech while addressing a rally. He had said that 'if you touch even a single loudspeaker, the PFI will be visible at the forefront'. During this, Shekhani also demonstrated against the violence in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and other states during Ram Navami processions. He claimed that Muslims are being suppressed in the country and said that some people want to spoil the atmosphere of Mumbra. They said, 'If you tease us, we will not leave you.'

Shekhani is on the run

After the provocative speech, the Mumbai Police had registered a case against Shekhani. However, since then he is absconding. Mumbai Police said that two teams have been formed to arrest Matin Shekhani, police are trying to trace his location. The case was registered under Section 37(3) of the Maharashtra Police Act and Section 188 of the IPC for holding an illegal public meeting. Here Mateen had allegedly made a provocative speech.
