If the price of diesel decreases, the cost of transport will decrease and vegetables and essential things will become cheaper. The people of the country are being robbed by increasing the cost of food items and reducing their weight. Citing the example of reduced weight items being sold at a higher price, he said that earlier 80 grams of biscuits were available for five rupees, which has now been reduced to 50 grams. Similarly, earlier tea leaves were available for Rs 70 for 250 grams. Namkeen is now available for Rs 10 for 32 grams, which was earlier 65 grams. Chocolate is getting 13.2 grams for Rs 10, which was earlier 13.2 grams for Rs 5. Coffee is 5.5 grams for Rs 10, which was earlier 7.5 grams.

Shrinet said that the prices of vegetables are running like a rocket. Vegetables have become so expensive that they can be given as gifts during weddings. He said that due to inflation, lemon is available at Rs 400 per kg, green chillies at Rs 400 per kg, ginger at Rs 400 per kg, coriander at Rs 200 per kg, tomato at Rs 160 per kg, garlic at Rs 130 per kg, parwal at Rs 80 per kg, colocasia at Rs 80 per kg and Bhindi is being sold at Rs 70 per kg. Meanwhile, Mahila Congress also demonstrated here today regarding the costlier vegetables and raised slogans against the government.
