Navratri 2025: Sharadiya Navratri, which began on September 22, 2025, is a sacred festival dedicated to the worship of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. During these nine days, devotees install Kalash, observe fasts, and perform devout prayers to seek the Goddess's blessings. At the end of Navratri, Kalash immersion and the immersion of the idol of Goddess Durga are performed. Let us learn when Kalash immersion will take place during Sharadiya Navratri 2025, its rituals, and the auspicious times.

When will Kalash immersion take place?

According to religious beliefs, Kalash immersion is performed on the tenth day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) of the month of Ashwin. On this day, devotees who install the idol of Goddess Durga in their homes also immerse the idol. In 2025, Dashami Tithi will begin at 7:01 pm on October 1 and end at 7:10 pm on October 2. Based on the Udayatithi, the Kalash immersion will take place on October 2, 2025.

Auspicious times for Kalash immersion

The following are the auspicious times for Kalash immersion on Dashami Tithi:

Morning Muhurta: 5:17 am to 6:29 am.

Abhijit Muhurta: 12:04 pm to 12:51 pm.

Immersing the Kalash during these auspicious times bestows special blessings from Goddess Durga and brings success in all endeavors.

Procedure for Kalash immersion

The Kalash immersion process should be performed with devotion and proper rituals. Follow the procedure below:

Removing the coconut: First, remove the coconut placed on the Kalash. Break this coconut and distribute its prasad among the devotees.

Sprinkling the water from the Kalash: Sprinkle the holy water from the Kalash throughout the house with the help of mango leaves. This water is considered a symbol of purity and positivity.

Immersion of water: Offer the remaining water into a holy river, peepal tree, or any other sacred water source.

Immersion of the Kalash and its contents: Immerse the earthen pot, along with its contents like betel nut, cloves, etc., in a holy river or water source.

Receive blessings: After immersion, pray to Goddess Durga to remove all troubles from your life and grant you happiness and prosperity.

Significance of Navratri and Kalash Immersion

Kalash immersion not only marks the conclusion of Navratri worship but also symbolizes devotion and reverence towards Goddess Durga. It is believed that immersing the Kalash in a proper manner bestows Goddess Durga's blessings and brings happiness, peace, and prosperity into life. This process helps devotees free themselves from negative energy and increase positivity.

On this auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Navratri 2025, illuminate your life with the blessings of Goddess Durga by worshipping her and immersing the Kalash.
