Delhi: On Monday, the Congress held demonstrations from Delhi to across the country in protest against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioning Rahul Gandhi in the alleged money laundering case. Along with this, many senior Congress leaders and a large number of workers took out a march in support of Rahul Gandhi, after which the police took many people into custody.
During this, when the Youth Congress President Srinivas BV was taken into custody by the police in Delhi, he ran away after dodging the police officer. The video of this incident is also going viral on social media. It is seen in the video that a police officer Srinivas brings his wife in a car, after the vehicle has stopped, when the police officer brings down the Congress leader, he dodges her and runs away.In fact, in view of the Congress march and 'Satyagraha', Delhi Police on Monday put up barricades on several roads leading to '24 Akbar Road' (Congress Headquarters) and imposed Section 144 in the area. Rahul Gandhi left the Congress headquarters on foot to reach the ED headquarters on APJ Abdul Kalam Road and was accompanied by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and many senior party leaders and workers. Shortly after the march began, the police stopped the Congress leaders and workers and took them into custody. After this, Rahul Gandhi reached the ED headquarters in a car.
Several Congress leaders were detained
According to Congress, Gehlot, party's organization general secretary KC Venugopal, chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, senior leaders Harish Rawat, Jairam Ramesh and several other leaders were taken into custody. Priyanka Gandhi reached the Tughlaq Road police station and met the detained party leaders and workers.The Congress on Monday launched a scathing attack on the central government over the appearance of Rahul Gandhi before the ED in a money laundering case, alleging that he has spread terror in the country by misusing the investigating agencies. Along with this, the Congress also claimed that the Narendra Modi government at the Center has imposed an 'undeclared emergency' in New Delhi area to stop the party's 'Satyagraha' on the appearance of Rahul Gandhi before the ED.
