A major political split has rocked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha announced his departure from the party. Chadha claimed that six other Rajya Sabha MPs are joining him in this move, while reacting to the development, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that 'Operation Lotus' has now commenced in Punjab.

Raghav Chadha and 6 MPs Resign from AAP

Addressing a press conference alongside Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal, Raghav Chadha declared his decision to leave the party. He stated that two-thirds of AAP's Rajya Sabha members have decided to merge with the BJP, invoking the provisions of the Constitution of India. This move marks a significant shift in the party's representation in the upper house of Parliament.

Allegations of Deviation from Core Principles

Explaining his decision, Raghav Chadha expressed deep disappointment with the current state of the party. " He further alleged that the party is no longer working in the national interest but for personal gains. Chadha noted that for the past few years, he felt like the "right man in the wrong party," leading to his decision to distance himself from AAP.

Sanjay Singh's Sharp Attack on BJP

In response to the press conference, Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of orchestrating 'Operation Lotus' to destabilize the Punjab government. He claimed that this political maneuver is aimed at obstructing the work of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Singh highlighted the achievements of the Punjab government, mentioning its efforts in providing quality education and medical treatment worth up to 10 lakh rupees for the citizens.

Accusations of Betraying the People of Punjab

Sanjay Singh asserted that the AAP had elevated these leaders from the grassroots to the Parliament, yet they chose to betray the people of Punjab. He directly addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that the administrative machinery is being misused to run the 'Operation Lotus' system. Singh concluded by saying that the people of Punjab would never forgive these seven MPs for their actions against a performing government.
