During a press conference held in Kolkata on Friday, Amit Shah stated that the BJP is set to secure victory in 110 out of the 152 seats that went to polls in the first phase. The first phase of voting for the West Bengal Assembly elections took place on Thursday, April 23. A total of 152 seats were contested in this initial phase. Speaking to journalists on Friday, Amit Shah shared the party's assessment, asserting that the BJP is winning 110 of these 152 seats. He remarked that "Didi" (Mamata Banerjee) is leaving and the BJP government is arriving in Bengal.

Record Turnout and Peaceful Polling

Discussing the voting trends, Amit Shah mentioned that the first phase of the Bengal Assembly elections saw record-breaking participation. He stated that the people of Bengal have voted for change, and the high voter percentage is encouraging for the party. Shah highlighted a significant achievement, noting that after a very long time, Bengal witnessed a polling phase where not a single death was reported due to violence.

The Home Minister extended his gratitude to the administrative bodies for ensuring a smooth electoral process. He thanked the Bengal Police and the Election Commission for the peaceful conduct of the elections, while according to him, the absence of violence during the polls is a noteworthy development for the state's political landscape.

Upcoming Electoral Phases

With the first phase concluded, the focus now shifts to the subsequent stages of the election. As per the schedule, the second phase of voting in West Bengal is slated to take place on April 29. Amit Shah reiterated that the momentum for change is evident and the BJP is moving towards a decisive victory in the state.
