The recent controversy involving social media influencer and actress Anjali Arora during her event in Kanpur has taken a serious turn, reaching the local police station. Event organizers Anubhav Raj and आशीष गुप्ता have submitted a formal application at the Swaroop Nagar police station, demanding strict legal action against Anjali Arora and her manager. The organizers have accused Anjali of breach of promise and fraud, claiming that the entire episode has caused them massive financial losses ranging between fifteen lakh rupees and twenty lakh rupees. Demanding accountability, the organizers have asked for a complete refund of the payments made to her, alongside a public apology on social media platforms. Plus, the organizers stated that they're fully prepared to knock on the doors of the court if justice isn't served. However, official confirmation regarding the registration of an First Information Report has not been established yet as police are looking into the matter.
The core root of this entire dispute is the viral Kachra Badam song, the very track whose reel made Anjali Arora an overnight social media sensation and earned her widespread nationwide recognition. According to the organizers, this high-profile event titled Nagada Night Dandiya was successfully organized on October 15 at the Lajpat Bhavan Lawn located in Motijheel, Kanpur. The organizers alleged that the moment the Kachra Badam song was mistakenly played by the DJ during the event, Anjali became extremely furious. She openly displayed her anger right on the stage and walked out of the venue within a short span of time, while following this abrupt departure, Anjali's team raised serious questions concerning the event planning and management arrangements. Presenting their side of the story, the organizing team accused the artist and her management of failing to adhere to the mutually agreed terms and conditions, stating that their sudden exit was completely unprofessional.
Event organizers Anubhav Raj and Ashish Gupta explained to the media and police authorities that Anjali Arora was invited to the Dandiya celebration as a special guest and main performer. Given her immense popularity among the Gen Z demographic, the organizers claimed they promoted the event extensively across the city for nearly a month prior to the show, while according to the organizers, due to a minor technical error by the DJ, the Kachra Badam song was accidentally played for merely three to four seconds. Realizing the mistake, the organizers immediately got the song stopped within those three to four seconds. Despite this swift action, Anjali grew so upset that she refused to understand the situation and left the program shortly thereafter. The organizers questioned why the matter couldn't have been resolved through mutual dialogue if there was any genuine objection regarding the song. They argued that her sudden departure severely disrupted the entire schedule of the event. However, independent verification of the exact agreements made between the artist and organizers regarding songs remains unavailable.
Organizers Anubhav Raj and Ashish Gupta further alleged that a total of four specific activities were pre-planned and agreed upon with Anjali's team. These scheduled activities included her live performance, honoring the chief guests on stage by presenting mementos, interacting warmly with the audience, and posing for photographs with the organizers. According to the organizers, the dispute erupted within just ten to fifteen minutes of Anjali stepping onto the stage, which directly sabotaged the remaining planned activities. Anubhav Raj claimed that Anjali's flight arrived in Kanpur with a delay of roughly forty minutes at four hours and five minutes in the evening. Following her arrival, it took another forty minutes for her to exit the airport premises. Consequently, the organizers stated that Anjali reached the venue around nine hours and forty-five minutes at night, whereas her scheduled stage appearance was fixed for nine o'clock. Since local police permission was restricted strictly up to ten o'clock at night, the organizers were left with a very limited window to complete the event.
Organizer Anubhav Raj leveled serious allegations against Anjali's manager, accusing them of mounting continuous pressure regarding financial payments, while according to his statement, they had withheld the final seventy-five thousand rupees as a security measure with the plan to clear the remaining balance upon Anjali's arrival in Kanpur. Anubhav claimed that starting from six o'clock in the morning on October 15, they began receiving persistent phone calls demanding the outstanding payment. He also added that while flight tickets for four members of Anjali's team were booked in advance, they were forced to purchase an expensive last-minute ticket for PRO Sanjay Singh as well, while the organizers emphasized that they had invested substantial funds into travel expenses, security arrangements, stage setup, high-end sound systems, and other logistics for the artist and her entourage. So, ensuring the completion of the event as per mutually agreed stipulations was vital.
Detailing the scale of the Dandiya event, Ashish Gupta stated that while an audience of roughly twelve hundred people was initially anticipated, an overwhelming crowd of nearly fifteen hundred attendees arrived at the venue. Due to the massive turnout and safety protocols, the organizers claimed they were compelled to restrict further entry at the gates. To manage this massive gathering efficiently, eight to ten core management members, over two hundred active volunteers, and more than fifty professional bouncers were deployed. Anubhav Raj alleged that after Anjali walked off the stage, they went to Ganges Club to speak with her, but were denied an adequate opportunity to present their viewpoint, while he maintained that if there were any grievances regarding the management, both sides should have sat down amicably to resolve the dispute. The organizers also claimed that specific preconditions concerning media personnel and influencers had been established beforehand, noting that Anjali's team requested influencers to refrain from mentioning the Kachra Badam song.
Citing the extensive expenditure incurred on promotional campaigns, hefty artist booking fees, travel arrangements, security protocols, and stage infrastructure, the organizers claimed financial damages amounting to between fifteen lakh and twenty lakh rupees. They reiterated their demand for a formal public apology from Anjali Arora on social media and a rightful refund of the money paid to her. However, independent verification of the claimed loss amount couldn't be established. Following this dispute, the entire organizing faction, including Anubhav Raj and Ashish Gupta, visited the Swaroop Nagar police station to submit a formal application demanding strict legal action against Anjali Arora and her manager. Anubhav asserted that they will knock on the doors of the court if timely justice is denied. On top of that, the organizers advised fellow event managers to maintain clear written contracts outlining performance durations, photo session guidelines, media interaction terms, song restrictions, payment terms, and travel regulations to prevent similar uncomfortable situations in the future.
At present, this entire controversy has come to light solely based on the written complaint and allegations put forward by the event organizers. Formal registration of an First Information Report and subsequent police actions are yet to be officially confirmed. Meanwhile, a detailed official statement from Anjali Arora or her manager regarding these allegations has not been released, while only after the artist's perspective is made public and police conclude their unbiased investigation will the complete truth behind this dispute emerge clearly. Until then, the incident remains a major talking point across artistic circles in Kanpur, with all eyes focused on the next legal steps.
