The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Addressing a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that voting in Bihar will be conducted in two phases. The first phase, covering 121 constituencies, is set for November 6, while the second phase, for 122 constituencies, will take place on November 11. The counting of votes and declaration of results are scheduled for November 14. The term of the 243-member Bihar Assembly is slated to conclude on November 22.

The ECI emphasized its commitment to making these elections "smooth, simple, and completely transparent. " Voters whose names are missing from the electoral roll can still register up to 10 days before the nomination filing deadline. No additions will be permitted after nominations are filed. The electoral roll purification process began on June 24, with the final list published on September 30. Bihar's electorate comprises 3. 92 crore male voters, 3, while 40 crore female voters, and 14 lakh first-time voters. Also, 14,000 voters are over 100 years old, while a total of 90,412 polling stations will be established, with each booth accommodating no more than 1200 voters. Webcasting facilities will be available at every booth, and disabled voters will have the option of home voting via Form 20. Mobile phones will be allowed up to the polling center, with dedicated mobile centers outside the polling rooms.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar also announced the launch of a new 'ECI Net' single-window app for the Bihar elections. This app will enable real-time monitoring of all election-related processes. EVMs will now feature colored photographs of candidates and clearer serial numbers. Critically, postal ballots must be counted before the final two rounds of EVM counting, while a voter helpline number, 1950, has also been introduced for assistance.Technological Advancements
