In a significant political development in the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi has issued a stern and aggressive warning regarding the controversial use of AK-47 symbols on Islamic flags. While addressing a public gathering from a stage in Majhauli Raj, located within the Salempur area of Deoria, the Sadar MLA reacted sharply to recent incidents and statements made by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Tripathi stated that if anyone attempts to intimidate Sanatanis by placing AK-47 symbols under the guise of Islamic flags, they will be taught a lesson they will never forget, using the traditional Hindi idiom of reminding one of their sixth day's milk (Chhathi ka doodh yaad dila denge).

Reaction to AK-47 Symbols on Flags

During his speech, Shalabh Mani Tripathi addressed the specific issue of AK-47 signs being displayed on Islamic flags in Majhauli Raj. He characterized this act as an attempt to send a wrong and provocative message in the name of Islamic tradition. The MLA emphasized that such symbols aren't representative of peaceful traditions but are instead used as tools of intimidation. He asserted that the Sanatani community in Majhauli Raj and the wider Deoria district isn't one to be frightened by such displays. According to Tripathi, Sanatanis don't succumb to fear; rather, they stand firm and confront extremist elements head-on. He warned that the administration would take the strictest possible action if any further attempts were made to use AK-47 symbols on religious flags to create an atmosphere of terror.

Counter-Attack on Asaduddin Owaisi

The BJP MLA also directed his criticism toward AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Tripathi claimed that Owaisi has become frustrated and agitated following the administrative actions taken against the controversial flags. He noted that Owaisi had previously suggested that the administration was afraid of their flags, while in a direct rebuttal, Tripathi stated that the people of Deoria and Majhauli Raj aren't afraid of anyone. He advised the minority community to celebrate their festivals peacefully but warned that any attempt to use the cover of a festival to threaten the Sanatani population with symbols of violence like the AK-47 would meet with a severe response. He reiterated that the holy land of Deoria wouldn't tolerate such provocative acts.

The Issue of the Mazar and Ram Nagina Yadav

Expanding on his grievances, Shalabh Mani Tripathi brought up the issue of an illegal structure on government land. He recalled that when he was elected as an MLA in 2022 with the blessings of the people, he noticed a structure resembling the Babri Masjid standing on the railway overbridge in Deoria. He described this structure as a mazar that had been built by illegally occupying government land, while tripathi mentioned that this sight was deeply troubling to him. He further linked this issue to a past tragedy, mentioning the murder of Ram Nagina Yadav, while according to the MLA, Ram Nagina Yadav was a pracharak who had opposed the construction of this Babri-like mazar on public land. Tripathi stated that Ram Nagina Yadav was murdered in broad daylight for his opposition to the illegal occupation.

Political Context and Warnings to Allies

The MLA's statement comes at a time of heightened political activity in the region, while he also touched upon the broader political landscape, mentioning Asaduddin Owaisi's recent offer of an alliance to Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav. Tripathi noted Owaisi's warning to Akhilesh Yadav, where the AIMIM chief suggested that if an alliance isn't formed now, Akhilesh might face a fate similar to that of Tejashwi Yadav. By bringing up these points, Tripathi highlighted the shifting political dynamics and the underlying tensions between different political factions in Uttar Pradesh. He concluded by reinforcing his commitment to protecting the interests of his constituents and ensuring that no illegal or provocative activities are allowed to flourish under the guise of religious or political expression.
