CI Vishnudutt Suicide Case: A bailable warrant has been issued against Rajgarh (Churu) MLA Krishna Poonia on Tuesday. MLA Poonia is accused of inciting Vishnudutt Bishnoi, the then in-charge of Rajgarh (Churu) police station in Bikaner division, to commit suicide. In this case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed a Final Report (FR) terming the allegations against Poonia as baseless. Hearing was held in Jodhpur's CBI court. After that the court has directed the CBI to take cognizance of the matter again.
This is the case
On May 23, 2020, Vishnudutt Bishnoi, the then station officer of Rajgarh, had committed suicide. Vishnudutt's brother Sandeep Bishnoi had accused Rajgarh MLA and Congress leader Krishna Poonia of harassing him. Sandeep had lodged an FIR stating that Krishna Poonia was responsible for Vishnudutt's suicide.
The matter was earlier investigated by the CB CID. The local people demanded handing over the investigation to the CBI. After this, the state government had handed over the matter to the CBI. CBI had imposed FR in its investigation. The FR report was submitted to the ACMM (CBI), Jodhpur. Here the court dismissed the FR while ordering re-investigation of the matter. Also, issuing bailable warrant, has summoned MLA Krishna Poonia.
In this regard, the representative of MLA Krishna Poonia, Virendra Poonia said – We are completely innocent in this case. The court has rejected the CBI's FR. We will further appeal this in the High Court.
What did CBI say
The CBI had said in its report that no evidence has been found of Krishna Poonia abetting Vishnu Dutt Bishnoi to commit suicide. That is, till some time before the suicide, no such evidence was found, which would suggest that the suicide was done for the same reason. Although it has been accepted in the CBI report that Poonia used to call him. Because of this he was also upset. No such evidence was found at the time of suicide. The court has dismissed the FR on this basis and summoned Poonia.
Then the son committed suicide
After Vishnudutt's suicide, his minor son also hanged himself at home. He was a student of class XI. Was quite upset. After the death of both father and son, the whole family was broken.
Vishnudutt Bishnoi wrote suicide note
A suicide note was also revealed, which was written in the name of the then Churu SP Tejaswini Gautam. In this he wrote- Respected madam, sorry, please, so much pressure was created around me that I could not bear the stress. I tried to give my best to Rajasthan Police till my last breath. It is requested not to disturb anyone. I was not a coward. Just couldn't take the stress. I am my own culprit.

Vishnudutt was a sharp officer. In the police department, his methodology used to be discussed a lot regarding social innovations. His popularity is evident from the fact that he had thousands of followers on social media. Vishnudutt had an image of an honest officer in the department. Originally he was a resident of Raisinghnagar, Hanumangarh. Sub Inspectors were recruited in the Police Department in the year 1997. His uncle Subhash Vishnoi has also been an Additional SP.
