A devastating road accident has been reported from the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, where a bus overturned on the Tissa-Bairagarh road. The incident took place on a fateful morning near the Chaluj Mod, leading to the loss of seven lives and leaving eleven others with various degrees of injuries. According to the initial reports, the bus was carrying approximately 15 to 20 passengers at the time of the mishap. The vehicle was traveling from Bairagarh towards Chamba when the driver lost control at a sharp curve known as Chaluj Mod, causing the bus to flip over.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The accident occurred when a high-speed bus, navigating the treacherous terrain of the Tissa-Bairagarh route, met with a disaster near Chaluj Mod. Witnesses stated that the bus was moving at a significant speed before it suddenly overturned. The impact was so severe that seven individuals died on the spot or shortly after the crash. Among the deceased are four men and three women. Notably, both the driver and the conductor of the bus are among those who lost their lives in this tragic event. The local administration and police were alerted immediately after the accident occurred.
Rescue Operations and Medical Assistance
As soon as the news of the accident spread, a large crowd of local residents gathered at the spot to assist in the rescue operations. They were the first responders who began the arduous task of pulling out the passengers trapped inside the overturned bus. Shortly after, teams from the local police and the district administration reached the site to take charge of the situation. The injured passengers were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Tissa for medical treatment. The condition of some of the injured is reported to be serious. Additional SHO Anubhav Sharma from the Tissa Police Station has confirmed the accident and the number of casualties, stating that a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

- Jagdei, daughter of Hari Lal, resident of Village Bahla, Post Office Devikothi, Tehsil Churah, District Chamba, aged 24 years.
- Hardei, wife of Jagdev, resident of Village Bahla, Post Office Devikothi, Tehsil Churah, District Chamba, aged 43 years.
