On January 11, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma engaged in a pre-budget dialogue with students interested in the social sector at the Chief Minister's residence. This session, held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, provided an opportunity for students to voice their opinions on the state's financial planning, while the initiative aimed to involve the younger generation in the policy-making process and understand their perspectives, particularly in areas requiring social development. Students presented their views on crucial topics such as education, women's safety, and employment opportunities, which are vital for the state's future trajectory. This direct interaction helps in shaping policies that resonate with the aspirations of the youth.

Discussions with NGOs, Civil Society, and Consumer Forums

From 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, a significant meeting was held at the Chief Minister's Office with representatives from NGOs, civil society, and consumer forums. During this dialogue, various non-governmental organizations and members of civil society shared their experiences and ground-level challenges, while representatives from consumer forums offered suggestions on necessary financial provisions to protect consumer interests and ensure transparency in the market. The objective of these discussions was to ensure that the budget isn't limited to government schemes but also addresses the voices of those sections of society directly involved in development work, thereby fostering a more responsive and accountable governance system.

Dialogue with Farmers, Livestock Keepers, and Dairy Organizations

From 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, a pre-budget consultation took place at the Chief Minister's Office with representatives of farmers, livestock keepers, and dairy organizations. This session was extremely crucial for the state's agricultural economy. Farmers presented their concerns and suggestions on issues related to irrigation, crop insurance, minimum support price, and agricultural loans, while livestock keepers and dairy organizations demanded financial assistance for livestock development, pasture management, and marketing of dairy products. Through these dialogues, the government aims to formulate effective policies to strengthen the agricultural. Deputy CM Diya Kumari's Participation in Central Budget Meeting

A day prior to these state-level consultations, on January 10, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister. The meeting was chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while diya Kumari took this opportunity to strongly present Rajasthan's developmental needs and financial priorities before the central government. She reiterated the state government's commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Developed India-2047' and the target of a $5 trillion economy, aligning state goals with national objectives.

Demand for Funds for Key Schemes from the Centre

The Deputy Chief Minister sought financial assistance from the central government for several important projects. Prominent among these was the demand to declare the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project as a project of national importance and to allocate 5,000 crore rupees for it, while this project could play a vital role in alleviating water scarcity in several regions of the state, ensuring long-term water security. Also, a request was made to include the Yamuna Water Conveyance Project for the Shekhawati region in national projects and to provide 200 crore rupees for it. This project could offer a permanent solution to the drinking water and irrigation problems in the Shekhawati region, transforming its agricultural landscape.

Micro-Irrigation and 'Per Drop More Crop' Scheme

Diya Kumari also emphasized the vast potential for micro-irrigation in the state and demanded 900 crore rupees in central assistance under the 'Per Drop More Crop' scheme. This scheme is crucial for water conservation and enhancing agricultural productivity, especially for a water-scarce state like Rajasthan, while promoting micro-irrigation techniques will reduce water wastage and help farmers grow more crops with less water, contributing to sustainable agriculture. All these demands aim to accelerate the overall development of Rajasthan and strengthen the state's financial position with the cooperation of the central government.
