During the ongoing session of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, the Leader of the Opposition, Tika Ram Jully, launched a sharp attack on the Bhajanlal Sharma-led BJP government regarding budget allocations and their actual implementation. During the Question Hour, Jully raised concerns about the discrepancy between the government's public announcements and the ground reality. He alleged that the state government is attending house proceedings without adequate preparation or factual data, leading to a lack of accountability on public interest issues. The primary focus of his criticism was the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit and the reported performance of mobile veterinary units.

Details of Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit Budget

Tika Ram Jully highlighted the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit Development Scheme, which was a major highlight of the state budget. According to the figures presented by the Leader of the Opposition, an amount of ₹100 crore was allocated for this project in the 2024-25 budget. 83 lakh. Jully questioned the government's commitment, stating that such a negligible expenditure against a massive allocation raises serious doubts about the government's intentions. He asked whether the name of Maharana Pratap was being used solely for political purposes or if there was a genuine plan for developmental work on the ground.

Objections to Mobile Veterinary Unit Statistics

The assembly also witnessed a heated debate over supplementary questions related to mobile veterinary units (MVUs) in the Churu constituency, while animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat presented data claiming that three mobile units had treated 36,549 animals by February 15. Tika Ram Jully challenged these statistics, calling them practically impossible and logically flawed. He argued that the mathematical breakdown of the number of animals treated per unit per day doesn't align with operational realities, while he accused the department of presenting fabricated data to mislead the House and cover up administrative inefficiencies.

Opposition Demands Inquiry into Data Discrepancies

Citing the suspicious nature of the veterinary treatment figures, the Leader of the Opposition demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter, while he emphasized that providing inaccurate information to the Legislative Assembly is a serious breach of protocol and that the officials responsible must be held accountable. The opposition insisted on a physical verification of the services provided by the mobile units. Jully stated that transparency is essential when dealing with public funds and that the government must provide a clear explanation for the statistical anomalies presented in the House.

Questions on Government Preparedness and Accountability

In his concluding remarks during the session, Jully criticized the overall functioning of the state government. He alleged that ministers often arrive in the House without a clear roadmap or verified facts concerning their respective departments. He claimed that the opposition is diligently fulfilling its role by ensuring government accountability and will continue to raise public issues both inside the assembly and on the streets. He urged the government to move beyond paper-based announcements and focus on the effective execution of projects to ensure the state's progress.
