Jodhpur. The curfew imposed after the violence in Jodhpur on the occasion of Eid has been extended by 2 more days. Along with this, the internet will also be closed till further orders. However, after the violence, the atmosphere is calm now. No untoward incident took place on Wednesday. But the police-administration does not want to take any risk. Therefore the curfew has been extended till May 6. Netbandi will also be kept closed till further orders in order not to spread any rumors regarding the violence. After the violence, the police is keeping a close watch on every corner of the city. The curfew rules are being fully followed. The students who have appeared for the examination have been allowed to travel to and from school.

ADG Law and Order Hawa Singh Ghumaria said that there was some standoff during the peace committee meeting on Wednesday afternoon. BJP Rajya Sabha MPs and MLAs left the meeting. After that, efforts were made again and talks were held with him in the evening. After this the BJPmen withdrew the announcement of the fast unto death. He told that the BJP officials said that the police should not catch any innocent person. On this we have once again checked the footage of the CCTV camera. If there was not enough evidence against some people, then they have been released. Curfew orders can be revised in the middle too.

Ghumaria told that the curfew has been extended for 2 days. Apart from this, orders for net ban have been given for an indefinite period. He said that it is not that it cannot be revised in the middle. If peace and order prevails, then this order can be revised in the middle as well. He appealed to the residents to maintain peace

Ghumaria said that the police have so far arrested 140 people under Section-151 for disturbing law and order. Now 14 cases have been registered in the violence case. Some people arrested under Section-151 have been sent to jail by the court. They are re-examining the CCTV footage, he said. If sufficient evidence is found against the arrested persons, a separate FIR will be registered.
