Changes in Punjab's SIR Timeline
Punjab has also seen a revision in its Special Intensive Revision schedule, while the deadline for the door-to-door verification by BLOs in the state has been extended from July 24 to August 3. Following this, the publication of the draft voter list in Punjab will now take place on August 13, instead of the earlier planned date of July 31. Updates for Telangana and Karnataka
The Election Commission has also updated the schedules for Telangana and Karnataka to align with the administrative needs of the revision process. In Telangana, the draft voter list is now set to be published on August 10, with the final voter list scheduled for release on October 12. In Karnataka, the door-to-door verification by BLOs will now be conducted until August 8. The draft voter list for Karnataka will be published on August 17, moving from the previous date of August 5. Also, the final voter list for the state will now be released on October 19, instead of the original date of October 7. Broader Context of the SIR Campaign
It's important to note that the Election Commission had already extended the SIR schedules for Haryana and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
