Uttar Pradesh | Three accused, including Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, who was the Mining Minister in the SP government, have been convicted by the Special Judge Pawan Kumar Rai of the MP / MLA Court for the offense of gang rape and Posco Act. All the accused have been summoned from jail by the court for November 12 to be heard on the question of sentence. On the other hand, the court has acquitted Amarendra Singh alias Pintu Singh, Vikas Verma, Chanderpal and Rupeshwar alias Rupesh in the same case giving benefit of doubt. The police had filed a charge sheet against all these accused before the court. The accused Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, Ashok Tiwari, Amarendra Singh alias Pintu Singh, Vikas Verma, Chandrapal Rupeshwar alias Rupesh and Ashish Kumar remained in jail since the report was registered in the case.
On behalf of the prosecution, Assistant District Government Advocate Sachchidanand Rai and Special Advocate Ramesh Kumar Shukla argued that the report of this case was lodged by a woman resident of Chitrakoot on February 18, 2017 at Gautam Palli police station in the capital. The report alleged that all the accused gang-raped her and tried to molest her minor daughter as well. It is alleged that the accused called the woman to Lucknow for mining work and job, and she was molested at different places. Failure to do so, a special leave petition was filed by him before the Supreme Court. On which the order to file the report was made.

On October 17, 2016, the victim complained to the DGP of gang rape against all the accused including Gayatri Prajapati.
On 16 February 2017, the Supreme Court ordered the state government and the police to register a case on the victim's special leave petition.
On July 18, 2017 against the accused Gayatri Prajapati, Vikas Verma, Ashish Shukla and Ashok Tiwari, Section 376D, 354A(1), 509, 504, 506 Indian Penal Code and Section 5G / Section 6 Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO Act) The charge was settled. Along with this, a charge of section 176D, 354A(1), 509, 504 and 506 of Indian Penal Code was framed against the accused Amarendra Singh alias Pintu, Chandrapal and Rupeshwar alias Rupesh.
During the trial, 17 prosecution witnesses and 11 incriminating evidence were presented by the prosecution in the case.
The court recorded the statements of all the accused on November 2, 2021.
On November 8, 2021, after hearing the final arguments on behalf of the prosecution and defense, the court reserved its decision for November 10.
On 10 November 2021, former ministers Gayatri, Ashok Tiwari and Ashish were convicted. While Pintu, Vikas Verma, Chanderpal and Rupesh were acquitted for lack of evidence.
