Guwahati International Airport Secures Third Rank
' In this prestigious list, Terminal 2 of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati was ranked third. The architecture of this terminal is described as exceptionally unique. The waiting rooms and transit areas are adorned with traditional art and local handicrafts from Northeast India, showcasing the region's rich cultural tapestry. On top of that, the ceiling of the terminal features natural patterns that represent the flow of the Brahmaputra River and its tributaries, which also serves as a functional design to help passengers navigate the space.
Navi Mumbai Airport Ranked Fourth Globally
The Navi Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 1 also received high praise, securing the fourth position on the global list. Although international flights have only recently commenced from this airport, its design has already made a significant impact, while the magazine report states that the entire design of the terminal is based on the theme of the lotus flower. The world-renowned architectural firm Zaha Hadid Architects implemented this lotus concept throughout the airport, from the roof structures to the massive flower-shaped pillars. The report also mentions that interactive digital artworks have been installed between these pillars, offering passengers a unique and engaging visual experience. These digital installations make the transit areas vibrant and colorful, further elevating the overall aesthetic appeal of the airport. The Ambassador's invitation to Indian firms highlights the global potential of India's architectural and engineering sectors.
