The Patna Police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the well-known educator Khan Sir, following a violent incident involving gunfire at his coaching institute. Raids are currently being conducted across various locations as the police seek to take him into custody. This development comes after an FIR was registered against him, which includes serious charges under the Arms Act and for the attempt to murder, while the allegations suggest that security guards at his institute opened fire at his behest during a confrontation. Amidst these tensions, the police have issued a stern appeal to the students of the coaching centers, urging them not to be misled by any provocations and to maintain peace during their protests.
The Firing Incident and Police Action
The situation escalated following a clash between two rival coaching institutes in Patna. According to the police reports, a group of 15 to 20 individuals allegedly attacked the Khan Global Studies institute on Tuesday night. The group reportedly vandalized the premises and engaged in stone-pelting. Following a thorough investigation into the matter, the police identified Roshan Anand, the operator of the rival coaching institute Gyan Bindu, as the primary accused. Roshan Anand has since been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma confirmed the registration of the FIR and stated that Khan Sir's name has been explicitly included in the complaint related to the vandalism and subsequent violence at Khan Global Studies, while the police official noted that since his name appears in the FIR, he will be subjected to questioning. While the specific sections of the law applied against him have not been fully detailed to the public yet, the gravity of the charges remains high.
Arrest of Security Guards
In a related development, the police had already taken action against the security personnel involved. On Thursday, two security guards associated with the coaching institute were taken into custody for allegedly firing shots into the air on Tuesday night. Their arrest followed the circulation of a video on social media platforms, which purportedly showed the guards discharging their firearms. Both guards have been arrested and sent to jail as the investigation continues to unfold.
History of Disputes in Ancestral Village
The controversy surrounding Khan Sir isn't limited to his professional life in Patna. Reports from his ancestral village, Bhatpar Rani, suggest a long-standing history of disputes. Local residents and relatives have come forward with various allegations regarding his conduct. Ashok Singh, a resident of his neighborhood, claimed that Khan Sir was involved in a dispute regarding a boundary wall. He alleged that Khan Sir's father threatened to take the matter to the High Court and that Khan Sir had his uncle's boundary wall demolished, acting with a sense of superiority.
Another resident, Aditya Singh, mentioned that Khan Sir wields significant influence and suggested his name should be Abhiyan instead. He recounted an incident where Khan Sir allegedly tried to stop the construction of a drain by the Nagar Panchayat in front of his house, and with just one phone call, the entire administrative team arrived at the spot. Ashok Singh further added that the current legal actions against him are justified, citing a 2 year long struggle over a path and the eventual demolition of his own boundary wall by Khan Sir.
Allegations from Relatives
Even his relatives have expressed strong views. Imran, who is identified as Khan Sir's uncle in terms of relation, leveled serious accusations, calling him a mafia rather than a teacher, while he claimed that Khan Sir is deceiving students who attend his classes on YouTube and is playing with their lives. Imran described him as having a dirty tendency and claimed that he doesn't want to see anyone else succeed. He further alleged that Khan Sir is blinded by the pride of his wealth and compared him to Natwarlal, claiming that he inflates the success rates of his students, reporting 20 successful candidates when only 10 have passed. Imran concluded by stating that if he ordered the firing, he must be punished.
