RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed a significant gathering in Udaipur on the eve of the 450th anniversary of the historic Battle of Haldighati. During his speech, he made a major assertion that Maharana Pratap emerged victorious in the Battle of Haldighati. Bhagwat emphasized that the history of India shouldn't be viewed as a history of slavery, but rather as a chronicle of relentless struggle against those who attempted to subjugate the nation. He noted that while various invaders came and some even attained power, India never accepted slavery at a social or cultural level.

In his address, Mohan Bhagwat raised concerns about the current challenges facing the nation's progress. He alleged that certain forces, both within the country and abroad, are attempting to stop India's rise by crafting false narratives and spreading misinformation. He pointed out that those who oppose India's growth possess significant advantages in terms of population, power, economic resources, and organizational capacity. Despite these factors, Bhagwat urged that India must remain firmly standing on the foundation of its core values and principles to overcome these obstacles.

The RSS chief highlighted the life and legacy of the great Rajput ruler of Mewar, Maharana Pratap, as a symbol of the protection of religion, culture, and self-respect, while he stated that Maharana Pratap never struggled for personal gain but dedicated his life to the defense of his land's freedom and cultural identity. Bhagwat remarked that in modern times, there is a profound need to take inspiration from such great personalities who didn't compromise on their principles even in the most difficult circumstances. He asserted that India's true strength lies not just in its material resources but in its thousands of years of civilizational and cultural heritage.
Haldighati as a Symbol of National Resistance
Referring to the Battle of Haldighati, Bhagwat said it shouldn't be viewed merely as a single fight. Instead, it represents the long-term struggle of Indian society against foreign invasions. He claimed that Maharana Pratap's victory and his subsequent struggle became a source of inspiration for generations to come. He noted that even during the toughest periods of history, India managed to keep its cultural identity secure, and while the nation saw both good and bad times, its religion and culture remained intact.

Concluding his speech, Mohan Bhagwat stated that the rise of India isn't only in the interest of the country but is essential for the welfare of the entire world. He emphasized that a strong and prosperous India can play a vital role in global peace, stability, and human welfare. He appealed to the people to rise above narrow identities and divisions to strengthen national unity, much like the people of Mewar stood united with Maharana Pratap. He reiterated that for the progress of India, everyone must work together as a cohesive unit.
